Instagram Hacks You Need To Know

Instagram Hacks For Beginners

Let’s talk Instagram hacks! We all know that Instagram’s main purpose is the photos. What if I told you Instagram has more than just posting a simple picture? These hacks could turn your account into a traffic-driving beast and change how you do Instagram forever!

Manage more than one account at a time

Did you know you can manage more than one account at a time? Instagram has this great feature where at the top of your profile, you’ll see your account name, there is a drop-down arrow, if you click on this it will give you the options of the accounts linked to the account you are on. This allows you to move from one account to the other! Once you link up your accounts and you will not have to worry about signing out of one account to manage the other!

Keep your stories on your page for more than 24 hours

Are you a fan of Stories but hate that they only last 24 hours? Or when you post something, it eventually gets lost after multiple posts? There is a great little tool called “highlights”. They are little bubbles on your page and you can label and organize them by category. If you’re a fashion blogger, each bubble can be for the different stores you shop, seasons of the outfits, anything! Whatever makes it easier for you and your followers to get to!

Create a photo grid with a scheduler

I have been seeing this more and more on Instagram where you can crop a big photo into multiple photos on Instagram. When a user goes to your page, they will see the grids come together making your big photo. This is where scheduling programs are handy. It allows you to place each picture where it needs to be in order to get the full picture. It’s so neat to see and makes your profile pleasing to the eye!

Save drafts for later

Sometimes you just need to save a draft and come back to it later. Especially when you get a picture just the way you want to but you don’t quite have the whole post exactly the way you want it in order to post it. Tap the arrow button as if you are about to exit out of the picture and it will pop up and ask if you want to save the draft so you can go back to later! This is incredibly helpful when you need just a little while longer to get your content to perfection for your audience.

Share content with the click of a button

Have you ever found someone’s post that you just love and want to share to your Story? Well, there is that option! The little paper airplane button under the post or in the right-hand corner of the story is the button that allows you to do that. Be sure you give them the credit for their post! You wouldn’t want someone sharing your posts but taking the credit. This is also a great option to collaborate with other influencers and companies to help get your name out there to a broader audience!

Link your profiles

Facebook and Instagram are run by the same people, so you can link your profiles for more traffic. When you share a story or a post, you can link it to Facebook! This allows you to hit both your Instagram audience and your Facebook audience but also cuts out the double posting! IFTT is another great option for linking all of your accounts.

Add close friends for personal stories

We all have a group of friends we want to share things with and not everyone who is following you. Instagram has an option for a close friend’s option. You will first create a close friends list and pick who you want in that group. When you add to your stories, you’ll see at the bottom left-hand corner a green star, this is for your close friends, select that button and the people you have in the group will be the only people that can see your post. This is a fantastic option when you have something you want to post for people you know personally and don’t want all of your followers to see!

Share videos on IGTV

IGTV allows you to record a longer video and post it similar to a Youtube account. A lot of influencers are beginning to use this feature to share tutorials, tip videos, and daily vlogs.

Add tags and Swipe Up to your stories

For Instastories, you can add hashtags or tag others you ware wanting to do shout outs to. This is great when you are collaborating with someone and what to give them the credit. If you have a product link for your followers, there is also the “swipe up” link that takes them directly to that product which is perfect when that link is also your affiliate link!

Check analytics

When running an account, you want to be able to see what is working and what isn’t working. Like Facebook and Pinterest, Instagram has an analytic report. Go to your profile page and up in the top right corner you’ll see three lines. Click on that and then click ‘Insights’. Insights is where you want to go to see content, activity, and audience. It’s important when you are trying to up your social media game, to keep track of this!

As you can see there are so many options with Instagram. Give some of these a shot and see what happens!
